We are not currently recruiting undergraduate research assistants for the Spring 2026 semester.

Description of Research

Motivated undergraduate students with interests in stress and coping research have a unique opportunity to participate in all facets of research in the CARES Lab. The CaRES Lab strongly encourages candidates from underrepresented groups. Our undergraduate research assistants (RAs) gain valuable research experience in preparation for later graduate study often earning research and thesis course credit along the way.

Requirements

Ideal candidates for an undergraduate RA’ship in the CARES lab will be responsible, highly motivated, and able to dedicate at least 6 hours/week during business hours for 2 semesters. Availability during the summer as well as Spanish language fluency are both highly desirable. Qualified candidates must be able to work in an environment promoting diversity, inclusion and multicultural perspectives.

In addition, the new Penn State’s/Liberal Arts’ Human Resources policy requires background checks be completed for all students who will have contact with children and/or access to identifying information. Students may not begin actual lab work until this process is completed.

To Apply

Interested undergraduates should submit a UGRA CaRES Application along with your CV or resume. Once received, someone from our team will be in contact with you shortly. If you have any questions, please contact our lab manager, Mary Veneziano
